Win-win for KSUT Tribal Radio and Four Corners Public Radio
KSUT Four Corners Public Radio and Tribal Radio celebrated with wins at the Colorado Broadcasters Association (CBA) annual Awards of Excellence Gala this past Saturday.
The celebration occurred in downtown Denver at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel's Ballroom meeting room. Chandeliers hanging from the ceiling glistened on over 400 people—the annual awards honors radio and television throughout Colorado for 2022.
This year, the CBA received 894 entries (511 from radio, 383 from television), and 168 volunteer broadcasters nationwide were assembled into panels to judge all 894 entries, according to the Colorado Broadcasters Association website.
KSUT Four Corners Public Radio and Tribal Radio celebrated with three awards.
Mark Duggan, digital content manager and website administrator (Four Corners Public Radio), won Best Station Website for KSUT's website for the second year.
Lorena Richards, content director (Tribal Radio), was awarded a Certificate of Merit for the Best Morning Show for the Native Morning Show Friday Edition (91.3 FM, 100.9 FM, 89.7 FM).
Crystal Ashike, digital content editor (Tribal Radio), received a Certificate of Merit for Best Station Website for Tribal Radio's website.
The CBA uses an awards point system that determines the winners based on the number of Awards (first place) and Certificates (second place) won stated on their website.
The organization was founded in 1949 to represent broadcasters with a mission to "build a stronger broadcast industry," and KSUT is proud to be part of it.
